2012 Indy trip, Day 4

We will not soon forget August 4th, 2012.  Filled with old friends, new friends, fun, and patriotism--this is a Saturday worth remembering.   We started off bright and early by interviewing Survivor Robert W. before our coffee even had a chance to cool.

Next up, some strategizing with the ladies before what may be one of the most significant meetings for the project, ever!

Off to the Indiana War Memorial...

And then, so many things happened there was no time for pictures!  Business meetings, wife rescues, a stroll through the bad part of town in unlikely company, lunch at the "Elbow Room", and then back to the Westin for the survivor's banquet.  Here is Survivor M. regaling our guest with tales of his ordeal and rescue...

Next up, a sumptuous banquet for the Survivors, with their friends and family, followed by a speech from the USS Indianapolis submarine's last commander.  NO ONE will forget this speech.  We all left misty-eyed, proud to be Americans, and feeling an inch taller (including our important guest).

And, let's not forget the raffle!! Everyone needs a Pampered Chef pitcher!
