Summer 2009

So it's officially fall...like it or not...and time to update the blog.  And now, without further adieu....The Blog.
SUMMER...2009

Summer started off great when we all got together to celebrate Mike's 60th Birthday (Ben's Uncle) in Corona.

 

On that very same day in June, we headed back down to San Diego to enjoy Ben's company picnic at the San Diego Zoo.

We enjoyed the Scottish Highland Games...Ben's dad came in the full outfit too! So cool!

Slip N' Slide Day! (need I say more?)

July came along and we had fun doing a bunch of random things....

Date Nights...


We grocery shopped...that's cheese and salami for life!

We played with Marko & Mikaela (Sara's little brother & sister)

We built furniture...

We saw the very talented (and funny) Molly Jenson perform.

Sara had a spa day at Glen Ivy!

Sara's grandmother was finally given a proper memorial (thanks "Aunt" Marcy)

Sara & Shalen celebrated 10 years of friendship!

We worked on the house...and then we were very tired.

We celebrated Dawn's birthday (Sara's mom) on the 4th of July

We went and played at the beach (with a large school of dolphins!)

 

             

Ben went on a great backpacking trip to Emerson Lake with Paul & Mark (his Dad & Brother)

We celebrated (and played some crazy party games) with friends and family at a couple Bridal Showers

Ben tried sushi for the first time (and we got to hang out with Sara's cousins)!  Sa-ke bomb!

Then before we knew it, August & September rolled around the corner!!!

There we a couple weddings to celebrate!

and while we were celebrating, we hung out with a lot of the good people from Sara's Pahrump days.

We spent more time with Marko & Mikaela (and truthfully, we had fun being kids too)

We had the best Thursday EVER....when Ben was able to take the day off of work.

We started the day at the Zoo with our annual passes

 
Where we saw elephants geting pedicures, pandas enjoying air conditioning, and the Jaguar being fed.

Not to mention the VERY up close lions (no, that's not zoomed in) and Ben's favorite - the 400 lb hamsters.

Then it was off to Mission Bay for a picnic and sailing...

It really was the perfect day!

Later that month, we had fun being chauffeured around Temecula's Wine Country by Mark (Ben's brother)

 

We filmed a kids cooking show with Vlada, Marko & Mikaela....and got to eat some amazing crepes too!

  

We fought monster mushrooms in our backyard....grrrrrr!

Sara got to hang out with a good friend from
High School (Heather) who came to visit.

And we hung out with family & friends in Coronado...even Steve & Jen were there to play!

Then came home for some roasted marshmallows and Wii with the family

Summer was great this year....but man it did go by too fast!
